 1925

Here is a marriage article from THE POST, December 31, 1925.
I have capitalized the surnames.

TOHLEN-ROBINETT
An event of much interest took place Sunday, December 20th, at high noon when Miss Virginia TOHLEN was united in marriage to Mr. John Estel ROBINETT at the Zion M. E. Church.  Rev STEWART, Pastor of the church, read the marriage ring service most impressively in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends.
Mrs. ROBINETT is superintendant of the Zion Sunday School, also is one of Dent County's most successful school teachers and by her loyalty to the highest ideals of her profession.  Her splendid ability and untiring energy has been most eficient in helping mold the lives of many young people for
useful service.
Mr. ROBINETT is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John ROBINETT and is one of the most successful vocational farmers in the County.
The bride wore a beautiful gown of pink and white silk crepe de chine. She wore a veil of white tulle held in place by a band of pink rose buds.
The groom wore the conventional suit.  The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Eulelia TOHLEN, who wore a picture hat and orchid crepe de chine gown.  Little Genevia and Lavina LUNN were flower girls.  Mr. Sid HOODENPYLE was best man.  The bride, carrying a beautiful bouquet of white roses and fern leaves entered on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage.  Miss Cleo FUDGE played the wedding march and Mr. Jack FUDGE and Paul TOHLEN acted as
ushers.
The color scheme of pink and white was beautifully carried out in the decoration of thr church, home and an enormous wedding cake.
The happy couple proceeded from the church to the home of the bride's father where Mrs. TOHLEN assisted by Edna SWINDELL, Esther JONES, Della FLOYD, Bessie PILLING, and Clara THOMASON served a bounteous dinner to about one hundred guests.
On Monday following, Mrs. John ROBINETT. assisted by Mrs. McNEIL, Mrs. JACK and Mrs. COONS served the infare dinner, and again the table groaned under the load of good things to eat, such as Mrs. ROBINETT's known to prepare.  The afternoon was spent in a jolly good time after which the bride and groom departed by motor on an extended trip to St Louis and eastern
cities.
On their return they will be at home to their friends on the groom's farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Cleve JACK and little daughter, Gladys of St Louis motored in for the wedding.  Mrs. JACK is a sister of the groom.  Mr. Harold TOHLEN, a brother of the bride came from Iowa to be present for the wedding.
