JOHNSON, NANCY J. (In Memory of Nancy Johnsom)---on sandstone

SIMMS, JACKSON; b. 1814, MO; m. 4/17/1834, Washington Co., Luvina "Vine" Cummins (bur. Cummins plot near Metham School), ch.: James, Preston, Bartlet "Bart" (bur. Fresno CA, m. Melvina Hagler, 1867, Dent Co.), Martin, Lucretia J. (bur. Cedar Grove Cem., m. Thomas J. Hagler), 2 more girls, S. & E. & 1 more boy, E.; The Simms originally settled this farm later k own as Young farm where the old Young one room school was located. *Located on knoll S. of homestead, 5 miles E. of Salem, Johnson is bur. & S. is bur. Simms (original landowner); the negro slaves are bur. E. of these graves across a small ravine -- to the north about a quarter of mile is the old chimney of original house of Simms; Simms slaves, negro family, man, woman, and 3 ch. are bur. near the Simms (one report says 4 slaves are bur. here.)
